At the heart of our mission is the belief that sports and activities should be inclusive for everyone.
Our committed team is here to assist individuals with a diverse range of disabilities, whether they are elite wheelchair athletes or everyday participants, in joining the TCS Sydney Marathon.

Take Part
Please note that all participants must be 18 years or older on Marathon Day to join the event. Additionally, to proudly wear the finisher's medal, it is essential to successfully complete the marathon within the official cut-off time.
Handbikes, trikes, skates, inline skates such as Rollerblade, skateboards, scooters or any geared or motorised device may not be used.
You can use the following wheeled equipment or device:

Standard day chairs/wheelchairs with a maximum width of 95cm and length of 2.20m (entered into the mass participation event) – a FreeWheel attachment may be also used.

Race Runners – but please email us first if you wish to use one of these.

Crutches, frames or walkers that are not motorised or geared.
Please note, race wheelchairs are not permitted unless the athlete has qualified for the Elite Wheelchair Marathon Athlete division. Race wheelchairs cannot be used in any other start group.
Assisted Wheelchair Participants
Assisted wheelchair participants can take part, with a maximum number of four support personnel helping to push them from North Sydney to the Conservatorium of Music. Of the four, only two can push the assisted wheelchair at one time.

Quiet Space
For participants who find the crowds and noise overwhelming and seek a calming and soothing environment, we've got you covered. At the finish line, we offer a designated quiet space specifically designed for neurodivergent participants. This area provides a retreat, allowing you to unwind and enjoy the conclusion of your marathon journey in a more peaceful setting. Your comfort and well-being are our priorities, and we're dedicated to ensuring that every participant has a positive and inclusive experience at the TCS Sydney Marathon.
Support Runner
For participants who are visually impaired or require a support runner due to a disability or medical condition, we welcome you to apply for a complimentary spot for your support runner.
