Following feedback from our community, our goal for the 2027 program is to increase the percentage of eligible applicants accepted, creating more opportunities for participants who meet the qualifying standards to be part of the High Performance Program. The TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS is also committed to ensuring equitable representation across all genders, while providing opportunities for male, female and non-binary athletes from all over the world.
Please note that submitting an application (i.e. a valid result that satisfies the above time criteria) does not automatically qualify as a guaranteed entry into the program. Anyone who applies for the HPP will be assessed against other applications, and the fastest male, female and non-binary athletes who apply (with validated application times) will be offered HPP entries to the 2027 TCS Sydney Marathon until available places are exhausted.
Time applications for the 2027 High Performance Program must have been achieved in an AIMS-certified marathon since 1 July 2025, and the athlete must have completed the marathon on a course with no greater than 457 metres of net-elevation drop between start and finish. Qualifying times may be assessed by either gun time or net (chip) time.
Please note that time applications must meet the following criteria:
-
Results must be publicly available.
-
The URL must link to an official race result or finisher certificate.
-
No Strava or Garmin / running watch platform times will be accepted.
-
The URL must link to your personal result, not the race website or main results page. If the race does not index personal results, please submit a link to your official finisher certificate.
-
Results must be submitted during the application process. No results will be accepted via email.
Please double-check that your result meets the above conditions before submission. Applications that do not meet these conditions will be automatically rejected.
Applications will open at 12:00pm AEST on Monday 14 September and close at 5:00pm AEST on Friday 18 September.
High Performance Program results will be announced in early November.
All unsuccessful HPP applications will be carried over to the ballot, and applicants will receive an email notifying them of their ballot outcome on 3 November. There is no need to apply separately for the ballot.
Please note that during the assessment and notification of each application, no correspondence will be entered into, and all decisions are final.
