Accessibility and Inclusion

TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS

Our belief is that sports and activities should be inclusive for everyone.

We are committed to making the TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS an inclusive event for everyone. Whether you’re a participant, spectator, or volunteer, we want you to be able to enjoy the event to the fullest.

Our Access & Inclusion initiatives aim to remove barriers and provide support so that people of all abilities can take part. This includes accessible course and venue design, and dedicated services for participants requiring additional assistance.

If you need support or have any questions, feel free to reach out to us via email at accessibility@sydneymarathon.com. Participants who identify having a disability or medical condition during registration will receive an email with requests for reasonable adjustments in the first quarter of 2026. Please see below services offered.

Non-motorised day wheelchairs are permitted within the mass participation field. Chairs may only have a maximum width of 95cm and a length of 2.20m. FreeWheel attachments are permitted.

Athletes must be able to self-propel themselves for the entire distance; outside assistance is not permitted. Participants will be seeded based on their estimated finishing time.

A limited number of Duo Team places are available through a separate entry process to the ballot. These spots are exclusively for wheelchair participants with a disability who are unable to get themselves around the course without assistance.

A duo team is made up of two people: one person pushing and one person with a disability. We welcome duo teams who are approved participants who meet the duo athlete criteria who compete together with a support runner.

A person may be allowed to push a person with a disability in a customised racing wheelchair, specific for outdoor road racing, provided both team members meet the event registration and pairing requirements.

Please complete the Duo Team Participation Online Form here, or fill out the Manual Form for the 2026 TCS Sydney Marathon here.
