Congratulations to the runners who were successful in the 2026 Ballot. We can’t wait to welcome you to Sydney on Sunday, 30 August 2026, as you take on one of the world’s most iconic marathon courses!
If you missed out this time, your marathon story doesn’t end here. There are still plenty of ways to join us on the Start Line and be part of the incredible TCS Sydney Marathon experience.

The 2026 Ballot will run from 10:00 AM AEST on 24 September 2025 to 11:59 PM AEDT on 17 October 2025.
This is not a first-come, first-served system - every application is equally considered in a random draw. So if you encounter a wait when trying to register, just come back a little later.
If you require your application to be withdrawn, please notify us in writing at info@sydneymarathon.com before 05:00 PM AEDT on 16 October.
01 The 2026 BAllot:
Successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified on 29 October 2025 of their result via email. Please ensure the email address entered is correct before submitting your application. Sometimes emails land in your junk or spam folder, be sure to check there first!
Any successful applicants in the High Performance Program (HPP) will be notified on 28 October 2025.
Successful applicants will have their bank card charged the race entry fee on 29 October 2025 (or 28 October for successful HPP applicants).
Unsuccessful applicants will also receive an email on 29 October 2025 with advice on alternative ways to secure a spot, including our Travel and Charity Programs.
02 Results Announced:
We are committed to making the process as seamless and fair as possible for all runners. Remember, there is no preference whether you enter the ballot on day one or the last day.
We encourage runners to be patient, understand the key dates and reach out if you have not heard anything after 29 October 2025.

Please note that no correspondence will be provided regarding the status of your Ballot application from the moment the Ballot opens until all draws have closed, and applicants have been notified of their acceptance status. The outcome of the Ballot draw is final. Please check out our FAQ’s for any questions.
For those who are unsuccessful, there will still be opportunities to participate through our Travel or Charity Programs.
