The 2026 TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS will be held on Sunday 30 August, 2026.
The first way runners can enter the 2026 TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS will be through the ballot, which opens at 10:00am AEST on Wednesday 24th September, 2025. Register for the 2026 Ballot here.
The 2026 Ballot will be open from Wednesday 24 September 10:00am AEST, to Friday 17 October 11:59PM AEDT.
Anyone can enter! We are anticipating runners of all abilities and ages from over 150 countries to apply to run the 2026 TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS, and we’d love to see your name come through too!

Following the announcement of the TCS Sydney Marathon becoming the seventh marathon of the Abbott World Marathon Majors series, the demand for runners to participate outweighed the number of places available in the marathon. The 2025 TCS Sydney Marathon was the first year that a ballot was required for the marathon.
No - all ballot applications received between Wednesday 24 September 10:00am AEST, to Friday 17 October 11:59PM AEDT will be treated equally, and all applications are equally considered in a random draw. If you encounter a wait when trying to register your application, just come back a little later.
All applicants will be notified of their ballot result via email on Wednesday 29 October. Successful High Performance Program applications will be notified one day earlier, on Tuesday 28 October.
Please do not contact us with any questions on your ballot application status after the ballot closes at Friday 17 October 11:59PM AEDT.
All successful applicants will have their nominated credit card charged on Wednesday 29 October, and upon successful payment (AUD $280 for Australian & New Zealand residents, AUD $330 for International residents), the applicant's 2026 TCS Sydney Marathon entry will be confirmed, and an entry confirmation email will be sent to the provided email address
All unsuccessful applicants will be provided other options on how they can enter the 2026 TCS Sydney Marathon through our International and Domestic Travel and Charity Programs.
Yes - as part of the 2026 Ballot, runners have the ability to apply as part of our High Performance Program (HPP).
After a successful debut of the program in 2025, we are pleased to announce that following age group standards are available for 2026.

Our team will be in touch with you after the ballot. Please do not enter the 2026 ballot, as we will not be able to provide a refund if you are charged an entry fee, and you will forfeit your deferral.
Deferrals are only offered to expectant parents under the Pregnancy and Postpartum Policy and active service members in the Australian Defence Force under the Defence Force Policy.
