The Connection Month
The community is showing up. The energy is building. August 30 is no longer a distant date - it's a destination with a start line, a crowd, a city and a finish that has your name on it.
This month isn't about more discipline or more data. It's about the thing no training plan can prescribe: the electric feeling of realising you are not doing this alone.
Run Clubs. Track Nights. Partner Run Clubs across Australia. Volunteer Week. Get amongst it.

Belonging
Belonging isn't something that gets handed to you on race day when the crowd is loud and the energy is impossible to miss. It's built in the quiet months - in the shared effort, the shared tiredness, the shared choice to keep going when nobody would have blamed you for stopping.
This month, belonging becomes visible. The run clubs fill up. The group chats come alive. Someone finishes a long run beside you and says exactly what you've been thinking for weeks. And something shifts - the way the training feels, the way you carry yourself, the way you think about August 30.
You don't just have a race entry. You have a community.
Find yours this month. It changes everything.

Excitement
There's a specific feeling that arrives in May. It's not nerves. It's something quieter and more electric than nerves.
It's the feeling of looking at the calendar and realising August 30 is real. Of remembering where you started and seeing, clearly, how far you've come.
Let the excitement in. Don't manage it or talk yourself out of it. It's one of the best feelings in running, and you've earned every bit of it.

Identity
Somewhere between February and now, something changed. It was quiet enough that you might have missed it.
You stopped asking if you were capable. You stopped waiting to feel like a "real" runner.
Running became part of how you structure your week, how you think about your body, how you recover from hard days. You talk about your long runs. You have opinions about shoes. You know your pace. You know your limits - and you've started to push them anyway.
That is identity. Not a finish time. Not a distance. A way of being that running has shaped.
