TCS SYDNEY MARATHON CHAMPIONS MEET AUSTRALIAN ICONS AT TARONGA ZOO

Eliud Kipchoge met some of Australia's favourite icons, including kangaroos and koalas

Fresh from their historic victories on the streets of Sydney, champions of the TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS joined the greatest marathon runner of all time, Eliud Kipchoge, The Hon. Steve Kamper, NSW Minister for Sport and Minister for Jobs and Tourism and Race Director Wayne Larden and gathered with some of Taronga’s most iconic animals for a celebratory photo and interview opportunity overlooking Sydney Harbour. 

Winner of the elite female field at the TCS Sydney Marathon Sifan Hassan was also in attendance with wheelchair champions Marcel Hug (SUI) and Susannah Scaroni (USA).  TCS Head of Marketing, Ashish Babu, also spoke at the event. 

Please note: Men’s Marathon champion Hailemaryam Kiros (ETH) returned home and was not in attendance.

Marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge (KEN) fulfilled his dream of seeing a kangaroo while in Australia. Widely regarded as the greatest marathoner of all time, Kipchoge often spoke about his curiosity to experience Australian wildlife and was finally able to have the chance to meet the country’s most iconic animal.
