Shark ChillPill
Recovery doesn't stop at the finish line. Head Coach Ben Lucas shares the simple habits that help you bounce back faster, train consistently and get more from every run.
One thing I say to runners all the time is that you don't get fitter from training. You get fitter from recovering from the training – the run is only half the job.
What you do over the next few hours often determines how well you're going to perform tomorrow.
Slow it down
I like keeping recovery simple. Try to:
· Walk for a few minutes.
· Hydrate.
· Have something to eat.
· Do a little mobility if you're tight.
Cool it down
Then start bringing your body temperature back down. Cooling is something more runners are paying attention to, especially after harder sessions or long runs in warmer weather.
Runners have been trying the Shark ChillPill , and it's a clever little addition to any recovery routine. The combination of cooling, mist and airflow helps you cool down quickly after training, which is exactly what you want when you've finished a tough session.
Recovery isn't about one magic product, though. It's about doing lots of little things consistently, because when you recover well, you train better. And when you train better, race day usually takes care of itself.
Be one of the first to try the new Shark ChillPill in Australia at the TCS Sydney Marathon Running Show presented by ASICS.
